NSC Writing Specialist Eduardo Mabilog
My name is Eduardo and I have been working at the writing center for three years now. My pronouns are he/him/his.
While working in the writing center I appreciate the opportunity to help writers shift their views to see the context and knowledge they bring to their writing, changing it so they do not view the knowledge they bring as a deficit and instead as an asset to their process.
Currently, my research focuses on developing strategies and cultures to facilitate writers to negotiate their identities into a discourse. This work centers on aspects related to incorporating a writer’s linguistic history into their writing, using different genres in their writing process (such as letter writing), and recognizing the different identities that become intertwined in writing.
I will be leaving after the 2020 Spring semester to pursue a graduate degree in Rhetoric and Composition. I look forward to continuing to research writing and work with students :).
In my free time I enjoy reading non-fiction, exploring Vegas, eating, and creating memes. Feel free to stop by the writing center if you want to get to know me more.
I have also included a few memes that capture my writing interests.
